How to Enroll in Medicaid and the Alliance

The Department of Human Services is responsible for Medicaid eligibility and enrollment. Below is more information on the following Medicaid programs:

Recognizing the need to expand health insurance to uninsured residents who are ineligible for Medicaid, the D.C. Health Care Alliance was created in 2001 to provide a health care safety net for the thousands of district residents without access to health coverage. The Alliance provides health care for District residents with incomes at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Level (FPL) that are ineligible for Medicaid. 

To enroll in Medicaid (D.C. Healthy Families) or D.C. Health Alliance please go to one of the following Income Maintenance Administration Service Centers:
