How to Get Immunizations The It's Wise to Immunize Program, a partnership between the Department of Health, DC Public Schools, and Children's National Medical Center, is dedicated to increasing the District's immunization rates while also educating parents on the importance of vaccines and linking families to primary care services. During August, call the It's Wise to Immunize Hotline - 202-884-5387 - to speak with a registered nurse who can answer questions about a child's immunization status, sending immunization records and referring a child to a medical home. On Saturday, August 25th, the It's Wise to Immunize Program will host its annual Family Fun Day where school aged children can receive free vaccinations before the start of the 2007-2008 school year.
