CATANIA ENCOURAGED BY AGREEMENT; LOOKING FORWARD TO WORK AHEAD
Councilmember David Catania (At-Large), Chairman of the Committee on Health, released the following statement on the Asset Purchase Agreement reached for Greater Southeast Community Hospital:

“I am pleased that an agreement has been reached that will transfer ownership of Greater Southeast Community Hospital from Envision Hospital Corporation to Specialty Hospitals of America.  I want to thank all of the parties involved for their efforts in bringing about this sale.

             For too long, Greater Southeast Community Hospital has been synonymous with turmoil.  This announcement represents an opportunity to close this chapter in our history.  I look forward to working with the Mayor, the Council and other interested parties as we complete this transaction and begin a promising and exciting new era in healthcare in the District of Columbia.”
