Catania Chairs National Meeting on Prescription Drug Prices |

STATE LEGISLATORS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY TACKLE THE CRISES OF SKYROCKETING PRESCRIPTION DRUG COSTS Washington, D.C. – Councilmember David Catania (At-Large) chaired the October 2007 meeting of the National Legislative Association on Prescription Drug Prices (NLARx) today in Portland, Maine. At the meeting, state legislators from around the country heard presentations from other legislators, academics, and health experts. The topics included a discussion of the relationship between doctors and pharmaceutical representatives, an update on multi-state purchasing initiatives, and a review of litigation between several states and the pharmaceutical industry.
