Hospital Accredited for First Time in Recent Memory

Washington, D.C.  – Today, Councilmember David Catania (At-Large) congratulated the management and staff of Specialty Hospital of Washington for achieving full accreditation and earning the Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission.  It marks the first time that the hospital, located on Capitol Hill, has been accredited in the last 20 years.  Catania thanked the owners and staff for their work, which spanned nearly two years.

“The staff of Specialty Hospital of Washington is to be commended for this outstanding achievement,” said Catania. “The process of gaining accreditation is arduous.  You don’t get to this point without a lot of resolve and dedication to providing quality healthcare.”
