Councilmember Recognized for Work on Behalf of GLBT Americans
Washington, D.C. – Later today, Councilmember David Catania (At-Large) will be honored at the17th Annual GAYLAW Awards Celebration at the Woman’s National Democratic Club in Washington, D.C. Catania is being honored for his exemplary work on issues that impact the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community.
“It is an honor to be recognized by an organization that is dedicated to the GLBT Community,” said Catania. “GAYLAW performs critical advocacy work on behalf of the GLBT Community and I am thankful for their efforts.”
Founded in 1990, GAYLAW is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, independent, non-partisan bar association serving gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender lawyers, law students, and legal professionals in the national capital area. GAYLAW works to advance the interests of the GLBT Community, to be their voice within the legal community, and to improve their professional lives. As an affiliate to the National Lesbian and Gay Bar Association, GAYLAW acts in coalition with other local and national groups dedicated to GLBT issues.
