Humane Society Pleads for Cat Adoptions Print E-mail
A decline in cat adoptions prompted the Washington Humane Society to issue a plea June 8 for residents to visit animal shelters and take in stray felines

In an announcement titled "Adoption Code Red," the society extended service hours. The shelter at 1201 New York Ave. NE is normally open noon to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Beginning the week of June 13, the cat room also will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
