Councilmember David Catania (At-Large) is pleased to announce that an updated and content-rich HIV/AIDS services website is available by visiting http://doh.dc.gov and clicking on HIV/AIDS.
At the behest of Catania, Chief Technology Officer Suzanne Peck and her staff worked tirelessly to revamp the previously lackluster website. The public may now access considerable information including testing locations, emergency prescription assistance, grants availability, and counseling. "I am extremely pleased that this important resource is online and available to the thousands of individuals and providers that will take advantage of it," Catania said. "[Chief Technology Officer] Suzanne Peck and OCTO staff have done an incredible job. To be able to launch this site during LGBT Health Awareness Week makes it even more significant." Councilmember Catania's Health Committee will resume oversight of the HIV/AIDS Administration at a hearing on Thursday, March 17, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chamber of the John A. Wilson Building (1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW). Catania promises that this hearing will contribute to a constructive dialogue that focuses on solutions to systemic hindrances impacting the delivery and quality of services to residents living with HIV/AIDS.
